Network & Server Specialist

Position Summary

You will have to analyze, troubleshoot and evaluate computer network problems. Your role is to maintain the company’s networks and servers, such as performing file backups. Your role also includes helping and keeping the network safe and secure, through both hardware configuration and end-user training.

Responsibilities

• Back-up network data 
• Configure security settings or access permissions to ensure the right people can get in and the wrong ones cannot 
• Analyze and report security breaches or attempted breaches 
• Troubleshoot the network to identify connectivity issues and use diagnostic testing software and equipment 
• Document network support activities 
• Configure wide area network (WAN) or local area network (LAN) routers or related equipment 
• Install network software, such as security or firewall software 
• Provide end-user support in person and remotely 
• Evaluate network performance data regarding things like speed, connectivity and disaster recovery
